If I had words...

Jeg savner sådan set ikke ord, men jeg havde helt glemt den... Den gamle popsang "If I Had Words" med Scott Fitzgerald og Yvonne Keeley.

Den står nede i stuen i single-samlingen og samler støv. For nok hænger jeg stadig ved vinylformatet, men det er altså mest LP'erne, der står for tur. Det er med vore dages målestok alligevel lidt for bøvlet at rejse sig for at skifte plade efter hver sang.

Men under alle omstændigheder; jeg havde helt glemt den, da jeg læste en anmeldelse i dagens udgave af Nordjyske Stiftstidende af en koncert, hvor det lokale symfoniorkester blandt andet havde spillet Saint-Saëns 3. symfoni, orgelsymfonien. Det er nemlig herfra, at melodien til "If I Had Words" stammer.

Orglet er jo et magtfuldt instrument, der bringer de klassiske toner op på heavy-niveau, så lad os lige tage sidstesatsen af orgelsymfonien - for helt ærligt holder den altså bedre vand end den gamle popsang...
