After the conflicts between referees of Liga MX and Héctor González Iñárritu, the Mexican Football Federation (FMF) announced his replacement with Arturo Brizio Carter to, once and for all, end the problems of Mexican refereeing.

The decision came after Iñárritu and the Mexican Association of Referees (AMA) had a public dispute and had its peak when the TAS revoked the suspensions of a year to Enrique Triverio and Pablo Aguilar, players of Toluca and America. In his first words as the new chairman of the FMF Referees Committee, Arturo Brizio made it clear that he arrives with the best willingness to contribute to the growth of the Mexican football refereeing: "It is a very nice challenge, I have been part of refereeing since I was a kid and this is a special moment in Mexican football. There is a lot of work to be done in refereeing and that is why I take on this challenge”. For his part, Decio de María, FMF president, was in charge of giving the news and sending a message to the ancestor Iñárritu: "We must build a project together, it is not a matter of people, but of concepts, to make a clear definition of the Mexican refereeing".
